For our home game against AFC Wulfrunians we warmly welcome the players, coaches, families & friends of local club, Worcester Disability FC, who visit Claines Lane as our official Matchday Mascots.
WDFC provide football sessions for children and adults with a wide range of special needs and disabilities. The Club currently has two junior disability teams for children aged 5 and over. These are the Comets and Rockets. There is also an adult disability team who attend weekly training sessions along with regular tournaments and games. Furthermore, WDFC has recently introduced a football team for junior players who use a frame to walk.
As a further gesture of support from everyone at Worcester City FC, a bucket collection in aid of WDFC funds will take place during the half time interval, if City fans wish to donate!
Club Coach, Chloe French said:
‘Along with my coaching colleagues Ed, Laura, & Mark at the helm, our teams train on Sunday mornings at the University of Worcester, if you want to come along. In the meantime, our thanks go to WCFC for hosting our club today and for supporting us via a half time bucket collection. If you are interested in joining us, email: u14coach@wdfc.org or visit www.WDFC.org ’
Lead CCT Coach, Bosko Medakovic is keen to grow our community work and highlight incredible organisations such as Worcester Disability FC:
‘In reaching out to our local community through our CCT schemes, we were delighted to attract our fellow football fanatics from WDFC. The purpose of the CCT is to build better links with our community and invite them along as our matchday guests, as well as provide them with some activities designed to make their experience on the day all the more enjoyable!’
He added:
‘We have virtually been fully booked for home games this season with mascot groups and birthday parties, that in turn has seen the club’s home matchday economy benefit from the increase in attendances. We have had fantastic feedback from those folk who have experienced the occasions… with some wanting to return next season! I am assisted within the CCT by Lee, Baz, Max, Hannah, and young Eddie, who all pitch in to help make the occasions fun, enjoyable, and successful.’
