TRUST MEMBERS FORUM- Saturday 11th February 2023
We held our third meeting of the 2022/23 Season, which was our first Members Only Forum at Claines Lane
WCFCST Members Forum – 11/02/2023
We appreciate the members that attended the Members Forum following the Wolverhampton Casuals home game on 11/02/2023. Following a discussion with First Team Manager Chris Cornes and Trust members, we held an open floor discussion with the Trust board and Trust members.
From this discussion three key points were raised:
– Alternative ways to pay Trust membership
– Use of flags by fans at home games
– What Trust funds were to be spent on
At a Trust board meeting on 13/02/2023 we agreed that those unable to pay via the website for membership can pay via direct debit/standing order. We will put out correspondence regarding this asking any members in this situation to email us with their details so we can add them manually into the system in order to ensure they still receive Trust correspondence and have membership renewal emails sent out to them.
With regards to the use of flags we are passionate about creating a match day experience works for the fans, volunteers and corporate partners. Therefore in terms of the use of flags we wholeheartedly agree this is something fans should be allowed to do, but do agree that they should not cover up advertising boardings around the pitch. There are also plenty of places around the ground that flags can be put up and we would be happy to help fans with this. If any further issues arise regarding this on a match day then please come and raise this with a member of the Trust board (usually one of us is set up under the gazebo).
In terms of the new membership scheme, we are now the majority shareholder of the football club so we need to raise funds to ensure the long term survival of the football club. We also have these funds in order to help fund specific projects when they arise such as improvements at Claines Lane and whatever members think we should be spending money on. Your suggestions are always welcome.
It was mentioned specifically at the meeting the PA system at Claines not being up to standard so at Monday’s board meeting we agreed to look into whether there is a system that we could invest in that are wireless and portable.
We will be looking to host these forums on a more regular basis moving forward and are looking into setting up additional ways that our members can get in touch with us.
